Fall Food Plots » July 6, 2010
Food plots don't have to be planted in the spring. Fall food plots such as clover, rape seed, and brassicas do very well when planted in late summer. It actually requires less maintenace for you since clovers need to be mowed mid summer. When these are planted in late summer their greens have the highest suger content in late fall when the deer are feeding the heaviest before winter. They are also in the younger stages of developement making them more palatable for the deer.
So it's not to late to schedule an appointment to get your fall plots in or order your seed
